Midnight Markdown is an independent game made and run by an individual under the name grailsformail. It is not a company. "We" and "us" here mean that person.
This licence covers the Midnight Markdown game in the browser and as the PC app. It is part of the terms and conditions, and the privacy policy explains what the game stores. By installing or playing the game you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not install or play.
1. License to play
We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable license to install and play the game for your own non-commercial use. The game is licensed, not sold. We keep every right we do not give you here.
2. Restrictions
You may not:
- copy, sell, resell, rent, lend, share or redistribute the game, the PC app, its files or your account, or put the game on another website;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or modify the game or the PC app, or extract its art, models, music or code for other projects, except where the law allows it even though this licence says no, or where an outside licence on the credits page lets you use that part on its own terms;
- get around the game's checks, limits, rate limits or protections, or use the game to attack the service or other players;
- remove or change any copyright, licence or credit notice.
3. No cheating
Do not use bots, trainers, aimbots, wallhacks, modified clients, edited saves or altered game traffic, and do not post faked scores. Report bugs and exploits instead of using them. We may remove board entries, reset results or close accounts that cheat.
4. In-game items
The game has levels, XP, cases, Super Cases, camos and attachments. They are earned only by playing, they cannot be bought with real money, and the game has no in-game purchases. The odds for each rarity are shown in the Cases tab before you open a case. In-game items have no money value, belong to us, and cannot be sold, traded or exchanged for anything. We may change, rebalance or reset them.
5. Online conduct
In lobbies, co-op and on the public board, be decent. Do not harass, threaten or abuse other players, use offensive or impersonating names, post personal information, or post hateful, sexual or illegal content. Online features follow the rest of the terms, including acceptable use.
6. Updates
The PC app checks this site for new game files and may download them. Updates are covered by this licence. We may change or remove features at any time.
7. Ownership
The game, its code, models, maps, music, sounds and names belong to us, except the outside fonts, libraries and CC0 assets listed on the credits page, which belong to their owners. Copyright claims about anything in the game follow the copyright (DMCA) policy.
8. Termination
This licence ends automatically if you break it or the terms, and we may end it at any time, for example to protect the service or other players. When it ends you must stop playing and delete the PC app. Sections 4, 7, 9 and 10 keep applying after it ends.
9. As is
The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it is free of bugs, that saves will never be lost, or that the PC app will run on your computer.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost game progress or data. The game is free, so our total liability for any claim about it is zero, except where the law does not allow that limit. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Law and disputes
